Ather Energy’s family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta, has crossed the cumulative sales milestone of 2 lakh units in India, underscoring its role as the company’s most important growth driver.
The achievement comes a little over six months after the Rizta crossed the 1 lakh sales mark in May 2025, highlighting the rapid pace at which demand has accelerated.
Launched in India in April 2024, the Rizta reached 2 lakh sales within two years and now contributes more than 70 percent of Ather Energy’s total domestic volumes. This strong performance has also helped Ather consistently rank among the top three electric scooter manufacturers in monthly sales.
The Rizta marked a strategic shift for Ather, which was previously known primarily for the sporty and premium 450 series. By introducing a more practical, family-focused scooter at a relatively accessible price point, Ather significantly broadened its appeal without compromising on features, performance, or range. As a result, the Rizta quickly gained traction with mainstream buyers across multiple states.
The Rizta’s success is not limited to India. Introduced in the Nepali market in August 2025, the electric scooter has received a positive response. In Nepal, the Rizta Z is priced at Rs 3,83,500 and is powered by the same 4.3 kW motor, offering a claimed IDC range of up to 159 km on a single charge.
